5th Annual International Haiku Contest
Fifth International Contest Capoliveri Haiku, promoted by Municipality of Capoliveri together with Giorgio Weiss' “Il Parnaso", is open to European Union citizens.
The authors must send their haiku in native language and with translation in italian. Entrants can submit up to 5 haiku.
In accordance with the rules of our Competition the poems (in their original language), in three verses with 5-7-5 feet, must have a marine theme, in its largest meaning. Metrical rules are not necessary for italian translation.
The compositions must be received by June 30th 2009 and must be sent by e-mail to the address

Prize of the contest are three (or possibly more) seven night "bed&breakfast" accommodation for two persons in hotel or residence in Capoliveri in May 2009.
The Contest Organization expects to publish an annual anthology, as usual in the past, edited by Capoliveri Municipality, with winning haiku, in addition to one hundred selected poems.
Participation to the Capoliveri Haiku International Contest 2009 entails the acceptance of the present rules and the permission to publish any selected haiku in the annual anthology.
Winners and the selected authors list will be available by August 15th 2009 at web site www.giorgioweiss.it. Winning poems can be matter of readings and critical reviews during the “Festival Internazionale Le Voci della Poesia” scheduled in Capoliveri.
